==JATS official versions== JATS was published as the standard [http://www.niso.org/standards/z39-96-2015/ ANSI/NISO Z39.96-2015, version 1.1], in January 2016. It is available as a [http://groups.niso.org/apps/group_public/download.php/15933/z39_96-2015.pdf PDF document] and as HTML at http://jats.niso.org/ . The [http://groups.niso.org/workrooms/journalmarkup/sc_roster/ JATS Standing Committee] is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the standard: Changes to the Tag Suite have always been user-driven. User-suggested changes are collected and discussed by the Working Group who decide on action. The intent is to put this standard under continuous maintenance, and allow the standard to continue to change based on user comment. Users can [http://groups.niso.org/apps/group_public/add_comment.php?document_id=15932 submit comments to the group] to report bugs, request changes to the content model of certain elements, or request new features. The public list of comments received to-date is on the [http://groups.niso.org/apps/group_public/document.php?document_id=15932 document landing page]. If comments involve changes to the standard, and are accepted by the Standing Committee, the standard will be revised pursuant to a Continuous Maintenance procedure approved by ANSI. The committee is required to respond to all comments within 3 months and release a new version of the standard at least once every 5 years. The responses to comments will be published and made available from the [http://groups.niso.org/workrooms/journalmarkup/ NISO JATS Workroom page]. Currently the committee expects to submit a new version for NISO approval approximately once every year. See the [[Resources]] page for more tips about how to find relevant documents.
